The relevance of relevance wage and expectations for the augmented Phillips curve was recognized as the expectations-augmented Phillips curve developed in late stages of 1960s and early 1970s, (Woodbury and Davidson, 2002, p. 233). According to the explanation given by Phillips regarding unemployment, it states that when the demand for labor is high, eligible but unemployed workers expect employers to offer high wage rates quite faster. On the other hand, it appears like job-seekers are reluctant to offer their valuable services below the wage rates prevailing in the labor market. Any subsequent analysis of expectations-augmented predicts that the co-existence of elevated inflation and towering unemployment usually occur with excessive growth in the money supply (Gottschalk, 2005, p. 13). That is, ÃâMS/MS > ÃâMD/MD, which is related to demand-pull inflation. Similarly, the expectations-augmented Phillips curve shifts upwards in each phase as expectations for inflation changes. It is defined as the elasticity of the real domestic currency value of Assets and Liabilities, when assets and liabilities are liquidated with respect to unexpected changes in exchange rates for exporting, importing, or import-substituting firms. As the name suggests, it is the exposure that rises due to trading of goods and services, borrowing and lending funds, etc. Forex transaction exposure can be dealt by with the usage of contractual, operating, and financial hedges. Contractual hedges employ the forward, futures, money and options market. Operating and financial hedges employ the use of risk-sharing agreements, some types of financial derivative, and other strategies. In this part, we focus on contractual hedges. Hedging implies replacement of an unlock future exchange risk with a presently known exchange rate where alternatives such as Forward/Future Market Hedge, Money Market Hedge, Risk shifting (price all products in home currency), Pricing Decisions, or Currency Risk Sha ring can be used. Operating Exposure: It is defined as the elasticity of the real domestic currency value of Assets and Liabilities, or future operating incomes to unforeseen changes in exchange rates. They are based on the extent to which the value of the firm - as measured by the present value of its expected cash flows. Scenario I: Closed Economy Internal costs and prices are unaffected by exchange rate changes, therefore no exports or imports. Scenario 2: Open Economy Small, open economy and an international price for all goods and factors increase by 45%. Then, except for contractual exposure effects. There are two widespread misunderstandings about forex as follows: a) Only organizations having international operations are exposed to it b) Quoting prices for trade in local currency would eliminate the exposure. The true assumption that can be concluded from the two concepts is the fact that the structure is fairly static; however, it is not so. Competition from a foreign firm or exports may eventually cause problems for

The Film Doctor Zhivago Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
The Film Doctor Zhivago - Essay Example Primarily, an entire social order is devastated and another of a cruel, forceful system is created to replace it. But such events are merely shown in a handful and violently acted parts that are shoved abruptly through a scene of the personal tragedy and afterward are as hastily inhibited. The greatest portion of this film is dedicated to the romantic view of the emotional connection and personal miseries of a few bourgeois who are inhumanely troubled and damaged by the larger forces of change. It seems that this tragic love story is the theme upon which the film has decided to resolve the pressures of personal drama and spiritual tension that overwhelmed the Pasternak narrative. I felt that the movie has taken for granted the massive disorder of the Russian Revolution for the sake of displaying the ordinariness and triviality of a hopeless love affair. Bullying - Essay Example McFadden is the name of the social worker I was interviewing. McFadden has been working in a local juvenile for twenty years. In the interview, the social worker explained how children who are bullies end becoming bullies. She also outlined some measures that can be taken to prevent recidivism. In the interview, she highlighted some recommendation that could stop the bullying behavior among children. I started the interview by asking the social worker what it meant to be a bully and whether the bullying characteristics are evident in offender. She responded by saying a bully who has aggressive behaviors towards others. She said that bullying has become a growing challenge in the world, but it is more prominent in America. According to McFadden, many people do not understand how serious bullying is. The number of suicides as a result of bullying has increased over the last few years (Sanders, 2004). McFadden said that a person is bullied if he or she is exposed to negative actions repeatedly from others. She highlighted that there were two types of bullying: direct bullying and indirect bullying. Direct bullying is attacking someone publically while indirect bullying is harassing a person by banishing them socially. What I erudite from the interview is that, bullying has a long term effect on the bully if their behavior is not corrected on time. McFadden argued that, bullies have a high probability to be convicted as criminal and more likely be offenders. Bullies display a serious conduct problem and other externalizing behaviors. They are seen to lack self-control and found reckless. The social worker also said that it is evident that children who bully their peers end up becoming offenders later in life. Bullying others at schools is a very high predictor of a child becoming a criminal offender in the future. During the interview, I asked the social worker on the measures

Manage health and safety in the workplace - Assignment Example This means that the UAE is suffering from poor health and safety practices. However, the UAE ministry of labor law regulated the health and safety act in 1980 and underwent a regulation in 1986. Risk assessments as required by legislation, regulation and organizational Work place safety and health is a framework that cultivates safe habits in all individuals in order to engender a strong safety culture in the workplace. It requires stakeholders to take measures that ensure that individuals at work place are safe and healthy (Oxford Business Group, 2008: 23).
